Oral Cancer

Oral Cancer is one of the most concerning cancers in the medical world today.  It is one of the few cancers that has increased in prevalence.  Usually, diagnosis occurs when the cancer has entered later stages of development.

To aid in early diagnosis, we have implemented a new oral cancer screening process in our office.  This will be available to you at new patient exams and routine exams.

The process is simple.  We provide you with a raspberry vineagrette like liquid that you swish in your mouth.  We then illuminate the inside of your mouth with a special light.  Any suspicious area that illuminates is then dyed with a special blue die.  Pictures are taken of this area and then you are referred to an oral surgeon for biopsy.

If you find any suspicious area in your mouth, give us a call and we can schedule a screening.
